TRILOGY WINES FULL STORY

The Trilogy range of wines - a red - a white and a sparkling wine - all use three grape varieties in their make-up - hence the brand "trilogy". With its contemporary stylish packaging - trilogy - celebrates the art of fine winemaking - in three acts.

Act 1. TRILOGY CUVEE BRUT - launched in 1992 the multi-award winning trilogy cuvee brut is made from the classic champagne varieties of pinot noir - Chardonnay and pinot meuniere - this is a sparkling wine of elegance - finesse and delicate fruit flavour - as with some of the very best champagne - the gold medal-winning trilogy is a non-vintage wine - generally comprising three or four different vintages.

Act 2. TRILOGY WHITE WINE - is a youthful - full-flavoured wine that uses a classic combination of Semillon - sauvignon blanc and muscadelle - the fresh citrus and lemon fruit flavour of the semillon is enhanced by the grassy passionfruit characters of the sauvignon blanc - with muscadelle adding structure and complexity. Its crisp acidity is complemented by a mouth-filling - full-bodied finish that makes it a red wine drinker's white wine.

Act 3. TRILOGY RED WINE - this combines three more classic bordeaux varieties - cabernet sauvignon - cabernet franc - merlot - the violet and cassis aromas of the cabernets are enhanced by the dark cherry character of merlot -leading to luscious plum and berry flavours on the palate and a generous - lingering finish.

The Trilogy range represents exceptional value by providing very high quality yet affordable wines - that can be drunk now or allowed to develop further with careful cellaring.

The Trilogy range is available at most major retailers for around $12.00 to $14.00 a bottle.

ROSEMOUNT ESTATES

Good wine and great food are a natural, but wines from Rosemount, named winery of the year in San Francisco in 1999, and winemaker of the year in London in 2000, will turn any meal into a celebration.

Rosemount wines like the 2000 semillon chardonnay. Fresh, rich, full flavoured and easy drinking, this delightful wine is perfect with light Asian dishes and seafood.

Another of Rosemount's diamond varietals is the 2000 SHIRAZ CABERNET. Again, an easy-drinking wine - fruity, fresh and full of flavour - and perfect for weekend barbecues as it really "lights up" the meat flavours. It can even be served chilled during the summer months. Rosemount's shiraz cabernet has won awards with every vintage, and look out for the double trophy winning 1999 which is still on the shelves.

2000 DIAMOND LABEL CHARDONNAY

The most popular premium Chardonnay in Australia, featuring ripe, juicy fruit, yet so smooth with a broad range of foods like stir fried prawns, fresh spring greens and pork dishes. A delicious, enjoyable wine and a true Australian icon.

ROSEMOUNT 1999 MERLOT

This easy-drinking Rosemount wine was only recently released in Australia and is a hot favourite with red wine fans. Merlot is emerging as one of the most sought after red wine varietals. It's infinitely softer than its sister Cabernet Sauvignon, whilst possessing the same rich berry fruit flavours and superb with lamb or spicy beef.

2000 SEMILLON CHARDONNAY and SHIRAZ CABERNET are wonderful wines from the Rosemount range, and excellent value at around the 10 to $12 mark.

The 2000 DIAMOND LABEL CHARDONNAY and the '99 MERLOT are priced around 12 to $15, depending if they're on special or you're buying them by the bottle or case.

Look for the Diamond Label and the easy-to-open flange-top bottles at good liquor outlets everywhere ... And discover for yourself the "Magic of Rosemount" - the prestige wine of Australia.
